The Role

 

Auditing Profit and Loss Controllable Lines

·      Maintain optimal labour percentages; oversee FOH scheduling, avoiding overtime, supporting production schedule audits and real time changes

·      Ensure par ordering levels are maintained with optimal costing practices in inventory system

·      Oversee inventory reporting and address variance and immediately problem-solving gaps

·      Meet targets on COGS & Review and evaluate supplier pricing weekly alongside Chef de Cuisine

Hiring and Retaining Awesome Team Members

·      Hire and training top talent using the tools available

·      Foster an environment of “happy people making people happy”

·      Develop new leaders in the industry through mentor and coach programs

·      Hold regular training meetings to consistently develop knowledge and skills of team members

·      Conduct pre-shift meetings with immediate reporting team members

·      Create succession planning within the business

·      Audit team member performances and give in the moment feedback

·      Host 90-day and annual review periods

·      Work safely in accordance with Health & Safety Act

Curate a transporting guest experience

·      Create and monitor systems to ensure consistency in product and service

·      Audit service through being present and providing in the moment feedback and course correction

·      Build rapport and establish repeat guests from inside and outside the direct community

·      Perform guest quality checks and recoveries when necessary

·      Innovate new thinking on how to better target first-time guests outside our neighbourhood

Manage Daily Operations

·      Build sales through guest count traction and increased average guest cheque

·      Guide the overall direction of the beverage program; working with the Beverage Director

·      Manage daily technology; POS, HRIS, Sound, Reservation & Inventory Systems

·      Oversee equipment preventative, and repair & maintenance

·      Follow and enforce all restaurant policies and procedures

Maintain Safe Workplace

·      Host health and safety meetings in compliance with Health & Safety Act

·      Ensure safe food handling & Smart Serve Certifications are audited and being enforced

·      Manage in compliance with workplace harassment and violence policy     

 

Who You Are

 

The right person for this role has a strong hospitality leadership background and prioritizes both guest and team member experience. The ideal candidate is equal parts people and process-driven with an aptitude for creating efficiencies at all levels of the business.

 

Preference will be given to those who possess:

·      A minimum of three (3) years in a senior leadership role

·      Previous high volume, quality driven coffee/espresso experience

·      Proficient in full-service & QSR mode style restaurant functions

·      Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization

·      Strategic, entrepreneurial and innovative thinker

·      Valid First Aid, Smart Serve, WHMIS Certification

·      Passionate, positive, and approachable
