Mini Chefs program offers students a unique opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of nutrition in a fun, interactive, food-based setting.
As a collection of community-minded food-lovers, we’re passionate about enriching people with the capacity to eat in healthy and sustainable ways. Mini Chefs represents our commitment to giving back to our community by fostering health literacy and food equality while cultivating foundational culinary skills in a fun, interactive, and educational environment. We hope that you’ll share in our vision to inspire and empower healthy habits, choices and lifestyles.Housed at Cafe ZUZU, Mini Chefs in 2023 focuses on collaborating with Regent Park-based organizations.
Currently the Mini Chefs curriculum is designed to be a 6-session, 1/week after school program for students grades 5-8. The goal is to foster health literacy and food equality while cultivating foundational culinary skills in a fun, interactive, and educational environment with the hopes of expanding the Mini Chefs program across the GTA.
ZUZU Gives Back
Café ZUZU will continue to be a neighbourhood hub, prioritizing local hiring practices to serve the community with culturally relevant, transporting culinary experiences. It is a new opportunity to merge our existing businesses with our passion for giving back and being part of a community.
It is through our charitable arm Gusto Gives Back, that our restaurant's commitment to making an impact in the communities where they operate is shown. Café Zuzu will partner with local organizations in the community to maintain access to the space with a calendar of events centered around entrepreneurship in hospitality and women in leadership.
Join us every Monday for Margherita Mondays where $1 from ever macchiato sold will go Fred Victor. Fred Victor is a social service charitable organization that fosters long-lasting and positive change in the lives of homeless and low-income people living across Toronto.

Too Good To Go x ZUZU
ZUZU is proudly fighting food waste together. We are excited to announce our partnership with Too Good To Go and join the fight against food waste. Globally, more than 40% of food is wasted - and that’s bad news for our planet. Food waste is responsible for 10% of greenhouse gases, and we use a landmass the size of China to produce food we end up throwing away.
At Too Good To Go, they are determined to help solve the problem. Too Good To Go connects customers to restaurants and stores that have surplus unsold food. The Too Good To Go app lets customers buy and collect surprise bags of this food at a 1/3 of the price directly from businesses. To get your ZUZU goodies:
1. Visit Too Good To Go + download the app (available for Android + iOS).
2. Search ‘Café ZUZU’ and reserve a Surprise Bag. Already sold out? Add us to your Favourites so you can quickly find it the next time we have availability. Our bags are usually filled with our freshly baked café pastries that didn’t sell during the day. Instead of tossing them, we list them on the Too Good To Go app for users to enjoy at a lowered price.
3. Drop by the Café ZUZU within your pick-up time window and let the host know you’re picking up your Too Good To Go order.
4. Enjoy your ZUZU goodies knowing you’re fighting food waste and helping the planet at the same time. How awesome is that?
