The Role
Curate a transporting guest experience
- Follow implemented systems to ensure consistency in product and service
- Build rapport and establish repeat guests from inside and outside the direct community
- Perform guest quality checks and initiate recoveries when necessary
- Ensure cleanliness, organization and beauty of the space are consistently a top priority
Perform daily café operations
- Complete functional barista duties not limited to espresso machine, counter, café dining, etc
- Execute café preventative maintenance & communicate any needed repairs to Café Manager & General Manager
- Inspect and sign for incoming orders, checking the quality of products or errors
- Open/Transition/Close café in accordance with daily checklists
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Cash handling & reconciliation – balance tills, organize and ensure accuracy in daily cash functions
Continually develop barista and hospitality skills
- Ongoing development of product knowledge
- Use strategic thinking when collaborating with Café Manager on new systems and processes
- Keeping up to date with industry trends & strategies
- Be entrepreneurial in spirit and look for new daily efficiencies in the business
Who You Are
The right person for this role has a strong hospitality background and prioritizes both guest and team member experience. The ideal candidate is equal parts people and process-driven with an aptitude for creating efficiencies at all levels of the business.
Preference will be given to those who:
• 3-years of previous high volume, quality driven coffee/espresso experience
• Proficient in café or QSR style of service and operations
• High level of coffee and tea knowledge
• Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization
• Strategic, entrepreneurial and innovative thinker
• Valid First Aid, Smart Serve, WHMIS Certification
• Passionate, positive, and approachable
